Marcella is a community located in the hills of Rockaway Township along Green Pond Road between Routes 80 and 23. Marcella has a wide range of housing opportunities from small starter homes to large center hall colonials. Marcella is surrounded by miles of protected wilderness which is part of the NJ Highlands. Farny State Park, Split Rock Reservoir, and Egbert's Lake are all protected tracts of land located in the area. Marcella Community Center is located on Green Pond Road and hosts lots of activities for residents. Marcella Field is used for baseball games and other activities throughout the year. Marcella is home to the Winnebago Scout Reservation, which is used by the Boy Scouts of America for camping and recreation. Camp Marcella for children and teens with blindness is also located in Marcella.

Marcella residents can use Green Pond Road to access Interstate 80 or NJ Route 23 for their eastbound commute. NJ Transit has a bus line that runs down NJ Route 23 with service to NY Port Authority Terminal in NYC. Lakeland Bus Lines has service to NY Port Authority Terminal in Midtown with stops in Rockaway Borough or Denville.
Public Schools for Marcella residents include Katharine D. Malone (Kindergarten-5), Copeland Middle School (6-8) and Morris Knolls High School (9-12).
